John Elsden

John founded Allied Powers after more than 20 years with the Trafalgar House Group, where he rose to become Managing Director of Allied Business Systems and Chairman of several technology companies, introducing pioneering open systems and computing technologies to the UK.​​​

At Allied Powers, John has built a long-standing reputation for helping business owners, investors, and management teams achieve successful growth, turnaround, and exit outcomes. He has advised and chaired more than forty companies across technology, renewable energy, and industrial sectors, working closely with private equity and venture capital investors. His ability to combine strategic foresight with hands-on leadership has helped many clients maximise value and navigate complex transactions with confidence.

Over his career, John has led and completed numerous restructures, acquisitions, and business sales, guiding companies through transition, expansion, and realignment to achieve strong outcomes for shareholders and stakeholders alike. His leadership and depth of experience have been instrumental in shaping Allied Powers’ practical, results-driven approach to client success.​

John continues to to apply his expertise through chairmanships and advisory positions at companies including Land Energy Ltd (the UK’s largest independent biomass energy business), Grid Xitek Ltd, and Square Mile Systems Ltd, while continuing to oversee Allied Powers’ advisory work and its proprietary Allied Information Management System (AIMS).​​
